Who We Are

Sunrise Children’s Ministry team members are called to Children’s Ministry by God and are committed to the spiritual growth of children from birth through 5th grade. We serve as a support system for families and parents, who are the true spiritual teachers for their children. Our interactions with children will strengthen their personal relationships with Jesus Christ, and we strive to provide leadership in which every child knows he or she is loved by God and by Sunrise Church. Children are the future of any church, and this is especially true at Sunrise. A successful Children’s Ministry is critical if Sunrise Church is to grow and accomplish its vision: ―Changing our world, one life at a time.‖ Our commitment to children is clear within all the Sunrise Kids programs at the Briargate Campus and the Woodmen Campus, the Sunrise Preschool, and Mother’s Morning Out programs.

Sunrise Kids is supported by many dedicated and active volunteers. Some of our servants faithfully teach our children every week while others teach on a rotating basis. We have volunteers who coordinate special events and holiday programs such as the Christmas Program, Easter Egg Hunt, Trunk or Treat Fall Event or the Advent Workshop. We also have behind-the-scenes volunteers on our Support Team who tirelessly prepare crafts and materials for our students or use their time and talents in administrative and support functions such as preparing reports and writing communication pieces or Thank You’s, Bulletin Board, Kids Crafts, Photo/Scrapbook, Construction, Refreshments, or Organization/Supplies. No matter what your Spiritual Gifts are, Sunrise Kids has a place for you! Let’s all remember what Jesus said about our children: ―Let the children come to me, and hinder them not, for to them belongs the Kingdom of God‖. Matthew 19:14. By teaching and leading our future church leaders, you are living out this passage, and honoring Jesus’ expectation for us regarding our children. Come help us bring kids to Jesus here at Sunrise Church!
