Groovy Gals group meets for the first time!!

The Groovy Gals, a group of Children's Ministry volunteers, met for the first time on March 14th at Mimi's Cafe.  We shared laughter, friendship, prayer concerns, and great fellowship last Friday night.  Our group is open to anyone who serves in Children's Ministry, whether Sunday School teacher, behind-the-scenes helper, VBS volunteer, or  Children's Ministry Staff member.  This was our first meeting, and we warmly invite all volunteers to our next meeting on April 18th.  We will meet each month on the 3rd Friday night at 6:30.  Our meeting location will vary, so watch for details.  For more information, contact Andrea at andreaw@sunriseumc.com.   

 Sunday School News

Your Children's Ministry team is actively working on an exciting new Sunday School format.  We're creating a Sunday School experience in which your children will be involved in hands-on ministry involving science, crafts, music, and storytime.  This new format will take place during regular Sunday School time.  If you want to be involved in developing this new Christian Education program, or just want to know more, please call 598-7013.

Sports Ministry Updates 

Sunrise Sports is starting now!  Upward Sports will start in the fall, with registration beginning at the end of May.  Sunday afternoons from 2:00 - 5:00 will be reserved for Children's Sports events. Based on interest and participation, we would like to host informal parent/child pick-up games from 3:00 - 4:00  in the Fellowship Hall at Briargate.  This will be a fun time for parents to spend quality time with their kids while sharing fun and fellowship through sports events. 

Vacation Bible School

June 23-27, Briargate Campus

9:00 - 12:00 pm OR 5:00 - 8:00pm

Children may attend one or both sessions.

Registration will begin in May

VBS Planning is underway!

VBS workdays are

Mondays, 9:00 - 12:00 in Room 210 at Briargate. 

Childcare is provided.  Join us for scheduling, decorating, planning, fellowship, and FUN!  Meet our new friend Flame' and make some new friends of your own.  Contact Sharilyn Barteld for more information at grassynole@aol.com

Sunrise Kids Sunday School

Sunday School

Sunday School takes place during each worship service. The schedule is as follows:

Woodmen Campus

Saturday Evening

Woodmen 6:00 pm is the FX - the Family Experience. Children should proceed into worship with their parents for a dynamic, interactive worship experience.  Children will leave worship during the message for a special Children's Time, and will return to their families for the close of service.

Sunday Morning

Woodmen 10:00 am. Children should check in at the Children's Counter and proceed into worship with their parents.

Briargate Campus

Sunday Morning 9:00 am

Children should report to check-in table in the Atrium and proceed directly to their classrooms upstairs. Classroom information is available at the Children's check-in table in the Atrium.

Sunday Morning 10:30 am

Children should check-in at the table in the Atrium and proceed into worship with their parents.  Children will be dismissed following Children's Time, and should be picked up in their classrooms upstairs following worship.
