Sunrise Preschool, a ministry of Sunrise United Methodist Church, is founded on a sincere love of children and a commitment to help families raise their children to love the Lord and prepare them intellectually, emotionally, socially, physically and spiritually to meet today's challenges.
At Sunrise, we believe that play is an important part of learning. Learning and interest centers are arranged throughout the classrooms to encourage children to explore, experiment and make discoveries. A teacher is always nearby to lend support, to answer questions or offer new challenges. We believe that a blend of child-selected and teacher-structured activities promote the development of problem solving, listening, communication, auditory and visual discrimination skills.
Our staff is here to guide, love and care for your child. Our teachers strive to provide a Christian atmosphere, along with a developmentally appropriate curriculum. All our staff have had background checks by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, have been fingerprinted and have Infant/Child CPR and First Aid training. Our teachers all have college degrees in Early Childhood or Elementary Education, which meet or exceed requirements set forth by the State of Colorado.
Sunrise Preschool is licensed by the State of Colorado Department of Social Services. Licenses are contingent upon continued conformity to the requirements set forth by law. These standards are enforced to ensure a safe environment for your child and relate to the physical assets of our school as well as staff qualifications, health and safety procedures, records and teacher/child ratios.
Sunrise Preschool uses an approach which balances both teacher-directed and child-initiated learning with emphasis on responding to children's learning styles and building on their strengths and interests. While including clear learning of the alphabet, pre-reading, number concepts, science, social studies, and the arts and technology, we recognize the importance of social/emotional development in childrens early learning.
