UMM – United Methodist Men
All of us are called to God’s work but sometimes in quieter and less visible ways. The focus of the United Methodist Men (UMM) is to be the invisible hands of God but with a reach that spans almost every aspect of our church. Our group was founded when Sunrise began. Its mission is to encourage men to be disciples through study, fellowship and volunteer work. All males, 13 or older, are welcome to join.
Many of you have come to know us through our fundraising activities like the Produce Sales or Holiday Greens or through our church activi-ties like the Pancake and Sweetheart dinners or the annual Church Winter Fun Day and All Church Picnic. However, many of you may not know that our members work right along side you in other capacities such as Northern Churches Care, the Church Finance Committee, Sunday School, Choir, teaching adult classes, Habitat for Humanity, Boy Scouts and Christmas Unlimited or that we provide scholarships for campers. Please take the time to check out our web page on the Sunrise website to see the numerous missions and activities that we support through our funds and our labor.
We invite you to join us during our Breakfast meetings on the second Saturday of every month at 8:00 AM. Or stop and ask for one of our brochures and give one of us a call. You will not be disappointed with our camaraderie, outreach and recreational activities and the chance to connect with every part of Sunrise.
If you are interested in joining, please contact Mark Barteld, President, or Bill Brown, Membership Chairman. If you are interested in Men’s Ministries, please contact Kirsten Barlow at 598-7013 ext. 12 or CLICK HERE.
There are also retreats and conferences for men as well as Bible studies.
