Our Philosophy
Our hope is that Sunrise Student Ministries is not just a ministry for students, but for parents and families as well. Our hope is to care for the whole family through our ministry to students and by making intentional efforts to equip parents. We do not believe that the Student Ministry is a supplement but rather a compliment for parents God given role in their students lives. If there is anything we can we can do to aid you in the spiritual development of you student please let us know.
Programs and Opportunities for Parents
It is the hope of Sunrise Student Ministries to provide programs and other opportunities for the parents of our students. These programs will be developed over time, with one new opportunity or program added each year.
Current Programs and Opportunities:
- Resources for Parents-We will never tell you how to parent your students, but we do want to be available to provide resources to help you understand youth culture and to equip your students to deal with any issue or problems that they might have. Feel free to contact Matt anytime to make use of our resources or with any questions, concerns, or celebrations you might have.
Future Programs and Opportunities:
- Parents Seminars-We hope to bring in outside speakers for special seminars once a year for parents.
- Parents Appreciation Week-We will implement a special week once a year for parents to show our appreciation for all they do in the lives of their students. This will include inviting parents to Student Ministry events and special programs including a possible appreciation dinner for parents.
- Other Programs-Each year as we add a new program for parents we hope to expand to include special events for parents and students including trips, retreats, and service projects.
Getting Involved
There are many ways for parents to get involved with Sunrise Student Ministries both in direct work with students and behind the scenes work. We believe that anyone who feels called can use their gifts in our ministry. We also desire to have parents involved in our ministry to give our students as many role models as possible, including other parents. Please check out our volunteer page or contact Matt for more information on how to get involved.
